Model VPT. This beautiful single post wrought iron sign stand will accommodate signs from 10 inches wide to 6 inches high up to 20 inches wide by 10 inches high. It comes complete with a 18 inch long ground stake that the vertical post bolts onto , a single vertical post with scrolls on it, a t-shaped flat plate that the sign is attached to by screws, and an adjustable mechanism that tilts the plate at either zero degrees (vertical), 30 degrees,from the vertical, or 45 degrees from the vertical (three positions). The sign or plaque can thus be viewed from vertical (normal sign orientation) to 45 degrees (typical for informational signs where the person is standing next to the sign reading it slightly bent over). A bolt holds this mechanism at the selected angle. All parts are zinc-coated, primed with a high-quality metal primer, and given two coats or Rustoleum metal enamel.

If you buy a sign from us at the same time, we will ensure that the sign matches the screw holes of the T-plate, making installation of the sign very simple. However, this stand can also be used with other signs of the appropriate size as well, but may require additional installation steps such as drilling into the sign.

Weight limit is 30 lbs for this stand using our stakes driven into the ground; if the vertical posts and stake are set in concrete, the sign's weight limit is 80 lbs, much greater than most signs this size weigh.

We use a ground stake system as the foundation for this sign stand; simply pound with a hammer a steel zinc-plated stake into the ground about 18 inches deep and then bolt the vertical post onto the stake. This works well with topsoil, clay and most mixed soils found in lawns and landscaped areas; however, it will not be effective in loose sand (the stake will work loose) or rocky,hard-packed dirt (you will not be able to pound the stake in). For these you will need to dig a post-hole 18 inches deep and a about a foot wide and surround the vertical post/stake assembly with concrete (preferred) or rocks, filling the hole to ground level.The steel used for the post and T-plate is very strong; however the stake may loosen in very strong winds unless it is set in concrete.

The maximum height of this stand (top of T-plate to ground level) is 48 inches, but the top of sign may extend an additional 4 inches; we will make the stand shorter if you give us your required height.
