This is a hanging double-faced sign with its bottom about 10 feet high over a sidewalk. It is 4 ft in diameter and consists of an outer ring with the name of the store in large cut-out letters and an inside area with artwork painted on a flat smooth surface.These are connected together three places so only a single piece of HDU was used. The ring and internal area are made from 3 in thick HDU, which has been routed to give rounded corner edges and then hand-sanded. The letters, which are made of 1/2 inch thick HDU,are cut with a CNC machine, routed on the edge corners and then sanded. They are then epoxied to a 1/4 in thick PVC cutout (in black) for added strength, and then the composite letter is epoxied to the ring.The shirt and dress design is painted with an artist brush and acrylic paints on a smooth sanded HDU surface.Red and blue medium pastels attract attention and are also pleasant to look at.
