This is a box-construction hybrid sign which uses a PVC sheet (brown) mounted on a 2 x 4 redwood frame. The letters and dolphin are cut from 1/2 inch PVC with a scroll saw, then sanded and gilded with aluminum leaf.They are epoxied onto the PVC sheet. The beautiful wood end caps are made by epoxying exotic woods 3/4 inch thick in a Herringbone pattern onto a Redwood frame, and finished naturally.This sign shows the effectiveness of different textures and colors, from the warmth of the wood to the shiny metallic letters.The sign is 8 ft long and about 2 ft high.
