Borders, Sculptures, and Other Appliqués
We subcontract to other sign companies to design and build HDU or wood appliques that can be epoxied onto flat aluminum, wood, MDO, and PVC signboard faces. We cut, route, perform multi-level sandblasting and sandblast carving, and hand-carving of bullnosed and other routed borders, logos, 3D artwork, and bas-relief and deep-relief sculptures. We sand, prime, and paint finish coats to your specifications ready for epoxying to your sign-face. We use artist brushes and oil enamels (1-SHOT) or acrylic paints to make our sculptures look great!! Just send us your 2-D CAD design files and sketches and we'll do the rest. We keep our costs low so your dimensional features are affordable. For one-off jobs, we use a combination of two-dimensional computer design software (Flexi) for cutting, routing and multi-layer sandblasting and sandcarving, and normally finish the third dimension on sculptures the old-fashioned way - by hand-carving, using chisels, gouges, knives, and rasps, or we may use a CNC router and 3D model.
We have ta large 10 ft by 5 ft table Shopbot alpha CNC router and two CNC 3D Carvewright Woodworking machines and 3D modelling software(vectric Aspite, alibre) in our shop that we use for repetitive jobs when multiple copies are required. These machines have the capability of a scanning probe to measure and duplicate existing item items.
