This 48 x 48 inch custom HDU (high density urethane) carved dimensional plaque has 3D art. Art and text are gold-leaf gilded; the background is bronze metallic paint. The lightweight HDU makes it easy to hang a plaque of this size without structural reinforcements in the wall. The same plaque made out of Mahogany weighs three times as much as HDU.

On this page we have examples of our wide selection of custom wood or HDU wall plaques for state Governments, branches, departments, agencies, and court; several versions of the US Great Seal, and seals, insignia and logos for executive, legislative, and judicial branches, listed in that order. Please scroll down the page using the slider in the right margin to see all the photos.These are listed in alphabetical order according to the name of the state, i.e., Alabama is first, etc.
There are hundreds of seals, insignias, logos, badges, shoulder patches, coat-of-arms, etc for each state for which we can make a plaque if we are provided a picture or photo of it; if you do not see what you want here and have a photo or drawing of it, we will design and make it for you. We can take a photo or sketch of any seal, flag, shoulder patch, badge, medallion, logo, coat-of-arms, or insignia and make it into a custom carved wooden plaque, and add on the unit's name or individual recipient's name,date and citation. We make wall plaques from 12 inches wide to 14 feet wide (for outside building walls). These do not have to be round plaques; we can make any shape plaque, or mount a round seal on a mahogany or Cedar wood backboard that in the shape of a shield, a rectangle, arbitrary shape,etc.

We can customize and personalize with text , materials, and color any plaque shown on this page, and make a custom plaque for ANY other seal, insignia or logo you may have. The top row of pictures (W32002 ,W32003,and W32004) shows the many style and material variations (hdu, wood, gold-and silver-leaf, wood stain, colored paints) we can use to make any plaque.. Although we show painted hdu in full color for most plaques on this page, we can make them out of wood or put any of several types of top coatings/color schemes on them, similar to the top row.

This figure shows six different designs of plaques to enable text to be added for personalization (either for an organization, a unit, an individual, or a team of individuals). Any seal, logo, emblem, insignia etc can be carved and put on a wood plaque as an applique. Photos can also be added onto the plaques. The plaques themselves can be made of a variety of natural or stained woods (cedar, redwood, mahogany, oak, walnut, cherry) or of HDU, if painted.
Traditionally, for (B), these accomplishments have been recognized with a small trophy or an engraved brass plate on a wood plaque.,or a paper certificate, but these are small and hard to read,and they all look the same. We offer a better solution, which often costs less than a "cookie-cutter" brass plaque. Every one of our carved wood (mahogany, cherry, maple or oak) or HDU signs and plaques is custom designed and can be personalized, and we will work with you to modify an existing design or create a new design for you.Six of our popular designs are shown in the figure to the left, and there are several other examples of personalized plaques distributed in the gallery photos below. We specialize on in making Government and Military Seal or Logo Wall Plaques carved in wood or HDU. These can be customized and personalized by adding names, citations, dates, and photos, etc as desired.
These custom plaques are very reasonably priced, ranging from $100 to $250 for smaller plaques 12 to 20 inches wide, up to $550-$1200 for 36 to 48 inch wide plaques depending on material, complexity and size. We will design you a custom and personalized sign or plaque for free if you purchase the sign or plaque. Refer to ID numbers (e.g. W32110) if you want your sign to be similar to one or more signs shown in the galleries. A variety of existing 3D carved art icons are shown at the bottom of the page; of course, we will design and make any custom or personalized (e.g., name, rank, dates, citation) design in addition to these. For carved seals or emblems, our custom "2.5D " designs generally have multiple layers , each of which has a flat top surface but are elevated at different levels. These are about 10-30% less expensive that true 3D custom designs, which have rounded bas-relief front surfaces (continuous curvature like a sculpture) .The 3D carved design appliques at the bottom of the page are "off-the-shelf" designs and are not considered custom; any of these plus many others can be added onto a sign or plaque, any size, for $25 to $75, depending on size. We also make engraved plaques, where we carve letters and art into a wood or HDU substrate with either a CNC router or a laser engraver (for small plaques).
