Above is a photo of a carved HDU sign for "The Half Shell " Seafood Restaurant , Pub and Oyster Bar.Gourmet Shop. This sign was made 3 separate layers, two of Redwood and one of HDU, laminated together. The Redwood signboard is sandblasted to show its grain structure. The text and borders are raised above the ribbon and shell background and carved into the 3 inch thick HDU substrate with our CNC router. The sign is first spray-painted , then the text, art and border are hand-painted. The entire sign is then clear-coated to give additional protection against salt air and UV radiation. This sign can be mounted between two posts or hung from overhead beams.
