This Redwood wall plaque honors Pharmacist Mate First Class John Willis for his bravery in World War II on the island of Iwo Jima. He served with the 3rd Marine battalion, 27th Marines, 5th Marine Division. He was killed in action by a grenade while saving the lives of several Marines during a fierce close attack by the Japanese. This wood plaque has an engraved brass plaque describing his heroic actions, images of his insignia of rank and medal, and a slot to insert a photo (as shown) with a glass cover.. Wall plaques such as these can be made in any size from 14 inches to 24 inches in width.
