These three 14 inch wide plaques with names, unit name and citations for an Afghanistan campaign are made of Cedar. The text is engraved with a laser into the wood. The top artwork of the units logo/crest is a digitally printed long lasting vinyl 2D applique fused to the wood, and then clear-coated. For small plaques like these with complex and detailed art , we choose to print the art on vinyl, rather than carve the art in 2.5D or 3D and then hand-paint it. It looks better and is much less expensive to use a vinyl applique rather than hand-paint the art. For a large version of this crest (24 to 36 inches), we would carve and hand-paint it.This plaque can be put on a wall or on a desk or shelf. Plaques like this can be ordered in any size (typically from 16 inches to 36 inches long) and can also be customized and personalized by mounting on a wooden plaque (mahogany, cherry, maple, oak, redwood, cedar) with carved or brass plate text.
