This carved  2.5-D   sign for the Dahomey National Wildlife Refuge is made of High-Density-Urethane (HDU), strengthened with an internal steel frame.  The text, borders and artwork are carved  in multi-level raised  relief . The text, border  and the  artwork, the US Fish & Wildlife Service logo and a grove of trees,  are painted with an artist-brush using long-lasting  sign enamels, and clear-coated twice for extra protection. This very large sign can be placed on an  outside entrance mounted on a wall, on a masonry monument base or mounted  between two posts with the two steel sign brackets shown in the photo,
