These two  round 2" x 2"  wood side posts and bottom and top decorative carved wood   panels provide support for  this  "Sign of the Indian King" .  This sign is wall-mounted rather than supported by its posts.  The top and bottom of the posts , and also the top headboard, have ornate finials for a more elegant  look.
